Art and cultural history dating back over 5,000 years is brought to life in sensually designed spaces.
The place for art and culture
The DKM Museum opened in 2009. It is located in the immediate vicinity of Duisburg’s Central Station and the Lehmbruck Museum and is considered the city’s ‘insider tip’. The permanent exhibition entitled ‘Lines of Quiet Beauty’ brings together various aspects of the DKM’s private collection on an area covering 2,700 square meters arranged across five floors.
Art and cultural history dating back over 5,000 years is brought to life in sensually designed spaces. Exhibits include modern and contemporary art from East Asia, Gandhara, Iran and ancient Egypt as well as vessels spanning a period of 5,000 years. Visitors can enjoy the principles of timeless aesthetics and a very special art experience.
