Hello children! Gerhard Mercator, the famous cartographer and astronomer, invites you on a tour of “his” Duisburg. He will show you what the city was like 500 years ago when he lived here. The route leads through the centre of the Old Town surrounding Town Hall, the Old Market and Salvatorkirche. You will walk along the old city wall and have a look at Johannes-Corputius-Platz, where Kultur- und Stadthistorisches Museum is located.
The “History Tour for Children” is especially fun with friends or with the entire school class.
